electrical system short circuited?

So i had the BRILLIANT idea of putting aluminum foil around the map lights and dome lights to have even distribution and brighter lights. map lights were successful, but when i got to the dome light, i heard a crackling sound and a spark. remembered that aluminum foil is a conductor, DUH! such an idiot. now the map lights, dome light, door courtesy lights, and rear window defroster doesn't work.
Could it be that i short circuited the whole electrical system? What can i do to get them working again? thanks ahead.

haha, good idea. remove your janky foil mod and check/replace your fuses.

lol, I don't think mylar is conductive, use that, get all that foil out. Microwaves and foil should have given you a hint as to why this is a bad idea, apart from it being metal and all.
-edit; in fact no, mylar is not conductive and reflects better, go buy a birthday balloon

down by your left foot, there's a little knob that opens up the fuse panel. If you have your cars original manual it will tell you what fuse it is, if you dont let me know and I'll go check for you.

you can pull them and check one by one, or try shining a bight flashlight thru them one by one, if you have good eyes you can spot the blown out ones without pulling all of them.

read the back of the panel it has a fuse diagram to tell which is which, it'll help point you at the one to pull.

Shoot I forgot to check this thread. Just do as suggested and find the blown one, replace it with the correct amperage fuse

There are 2 sets of fuses, one set in the engine bay and one set by the drivers pedals. Look for the dome fuses, I guarantee you blew the fuse

all the fuses in the driver side are good. It was the fuse in the engine bay that marked "Interior Lights", DUH! ahah. just replaced it with a spare one from the other fuses. everything works good now, including the defrost button even though it has nothign to do with it.
thanks everyone for help, except blackack cuss i did it before i saw his post. Haha i'm jp.
