ECM reprogramming after swap

i have a 97 2.2 and im replacing the ECM located on the pass side kick panel. is it just plug and play or is there and tricky reprogramming BS i need to know? anyone who has done this please chime in...

a stock unit...the exact same part as im taking out...bc its been determined that its causing problems with the signal being sent to my ac compressor. i know it sounds strange but ive taken it to two separate shops one being the stealership both diagnosed the ECM as the problem independently.

Oh ok. Doesnt sound weird, I deal with that type of stuff at BMW too lol. As long as its for a 2.2 CL like yours it should be plug and play

def plug and play; if it was a 98-99 you would have to reprogram immobilizer unit in vehicle. good luck.
