Hey all,

So I drove my car today and was running some running some errands before heading off to school. I parked the car for about 10 min when I went to drop off some things at the post office and when I got back to my car, it wouldn't start. I then noticed that the light on "P" on my speedometer wasn't lit. So I shifted it to "D" then back to "P" and the car started up fine. I drove the car, then parked it as I got to school then put it in "P" and noticed the "P" on my speedometer wasn't lit. So I followed the same steps as I did and it took 2 times for the "P" to light up on my speedometer. Can this be a transmission problem? Cuz I just had my transmission rebuilt last October. I'm thinking it might be the transmission mounts because I think they are pretty old and haven't been replaced for the life of the car.

 

seems like it's not engaging properly, check around the shifter and make sure nothing is in the way.really doubt it would be a transmission mount causing an issue; though anything is possible.
