SRS light help
i removed my steering wheel to replace the worn out one on there and i thought i waited the 3 min before taking it apart. i continued on with taking it off, but when i pulled the wheel off, i spun the srs cable reel around and im not sure where the original location was. i got it lined up best as i could, and put the wheel back on. when i started up my car the next time, my srs light was on. was this cause i didnt wait long enough to take the wheel off? or did i mess up the srs cable reel?
but most importantly, does will the airbag still deploy with the srs light on and also how do i go about turning it off?
i have no manual for my car so any help would be appreciated...
thanks

OK;SO:
air bags will not deploy, the srs light indicates a malfunction in the system therefore will not permit the airbags to deploy.
as for resetting you can't just unplug the battery;srs system isn't wired like that. besides taking it to honda or a shop with a Snap On reader or something you can jump the SRS service connector. years ago i did it on my accord which should technically be the same thing. just cant explain to you exactly how.. theres gotta be an article somewhere online. you would just need a paper clip or a piece of wire

the srs plug is yellow and near the fuse panel, just jump it off. You can reset it by doing the jump/release pattern (not sure of the pattern but if you look it up you will find it) if there is a problem even when you reset it the light will com back on as soon as you start the car next time

If you want to get the code go under your glovebox and find the blue connector under there and jump the 2 things in it with a paperclip while the car is off then turn the key to on and your SRS light will flash you a code. The codes are shown here: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-1997-1999-56/srs-troubleshooting-noob-guide-494077/
