door locking motor problem

when i lock my door, the passanger side door make a horrible buzzing noise for a good 2-3 seconds, as if it doesn't know that the door is locked. the functionality is perfect, i want to get rid of this noise. anyone else get that problem, or know how to get rid of it?

Correct. My drivers side that. There's a rubber stopper that wears off, so it continues to spin and makes that awful buzzing sound. It worked for a while until it completely broke off and then the door would no longer lock.

I think someone did a DIY on this. I had the same problem and fixed it. There is a little plastic thing that breaks off. This plastic thing is supposed to tension the gear which drives the actuator. Easy fix with a sheet metal screw. Search and Im sure you will find the thread.

If someone could be a dear and, should they find that thread via search, please drop a link off here please? Not trying to be a jerk or anything ... just I must not have figured out the best search terms to use or something along those lines.

For the record, I too have the 'added feature' of the buzzing noise in my passenger door ... I try to make the best of the situation by startling people with it when the occasion arises!
