Diagnostic Code - P0141 Heater Circuit

Ok, just did the search and it look like its the O2 sensor. Car has over 150K so this may cost me.

Hey all!

Anyone here ever had the P0141 diagnostic code come up on them? According to Autozone its "heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2". Does anyone know if this is a quick fix?

Thanks,
UPMR

This means the heater circuit on your rear (after catalytic converter) O2 sensor is open or shorted. In most cases the heater element has burnt out.

You can verify by checking resistance of the heater element w/ the O2 sensor disconnected from vehicle harness connection. If resistance is infinite, it's open. If < 10 ohms it's shorted internally. If it checks in range 1-40 ohms the problem is a wiring fault, again a short or open wire.

good luck

Thanks for the quick reply Tex. This is aft of the cat right? It looks like the part is interchangeable with a Honda's. I may go this route since its cheaper. The dealer is looking at $275 for parts and $137 in labor and taxes. It looks like I can get a replacement Honda OEM from ebay for $79 and save that plus labor if I do it myself.

Yeah, the ohms should have been 10-40 ohms if you're checking, but most likely the sensor is bad.

This sensor should fit, but I don't know they're interchangeable w/ Accords. I would be surprised if the sensor is different on the 2.2CL's.
