Cruise control button light

hey all..

today i tested my cruise control (i never use it) and noticed that when pushing in the button on the left side dash the light doesnt go on in the button...

BUT cruise control is working..the light goes on in the dash (where the warning lights are etc)

how can i fix that or is that something thats expensive and cant be done at home by a non mechanic?

thanx

Ohhh..at first I thought you were talking about the cruise button on the steering wheel, lol. I was like..that button doesnt have a light...

Probly the light is out behind the button..what else could it be? if the Cruise is working...ya know? Usually there is a little notch on one side of the buttons( seat warmer/ cruise control/ hazard lights) that allows you to pop that button out. Pop the cruise button out and see if you can see the light behind that button. I dont know about replacing it...but i guess its possible. If you cant do this let me know and I'll look on mine.

i took a look today..(traffic lol)
i didnt see any slot or anything like that...looks like its probably something that has to be done by taking the dash apart or sumthing like that..
luckily its no big deal but knowing a light isnt working bugs me lol

You have to pop out the switch with a small flathead screwdriver, then you can get access to the bulb

Yes i checked today. that is the slot. Beneath the CRUISE lettering. you need to pop it out a little with a flat head screw driver or something similar that will fit into that notch, then pull it out completely. I may try an do it myself tomorrow if I get a chance, to better inform, as I've never taken that particular switch out.

number 11 is the switch assembly and number 3 is the bulb I think. it could be number 5 and 7 for the bulb and housing, not sure but its one or the other
