Clutch Noise

Whenever I depress my clutch, it makes squeaking noise, sounds like a spring or something. Anyone know what this might be? This is a 97 2.2 CL, 155K KMS.

There's a bearing called the the release bearing or throw-out bearing. If the grease drys out, it will begin to squeal when you depress the clutch. Bearing probably only needs to be cleaned and repacked w/ grease.

However,...accessing the bearing requires removing the transmission :<(

Sometimes the noise will resolve itself, if a little grease melts and coats the bearings.

good luck
