i just got a new alternator and when i try to turn on my radio/cd player all it says is Err-3. what does this mean and how can i fix that?

 

it means you've been trying to punch in your radio code and you've been wrong 3 times. you have to take out your head unit to get the code. im almost positive. somebody correct me if im wrong.

 

easier way to do it:

unwire/unplug the positive pole on your battery for 30sec. It will resest the whole electronics system (clock, radio) and then punch in the correct code...

Nevertheless, the radio might indeed block after 3 attempts... go to the stealership.

 

take out the head unit, oh the bottom side will be a serial number. If you call the parts dept and give them that number they can give you your code

I never got the code when I purchsed the car. I took the console off. There was a sticker on the top of the headunit that was the code. Maybe someone did that to yours

 

My code was on a sticker on the outter left side panel of the glove box.

 

^^^some cars have that and some dont its weird.
