CL 3.0 downshift from 4th to 2nd is electrical..?..

This is a 1998 CL 3.0 I am having a diff time with this eratic downshifting from 4th to 2nd on somedays.. and then other days not a prob.. some say its the TPS, so i have adjusted it,,, it runs a lot better.. but the downshifting comes and goes.. one day it doesnt do it at all.. However, it seems if you manually shift thru the gears is when it most occurs.. but if you shut the car off for 4-5 seconds then back on its. fine.. if you leave the shift in 4th.. i have already replaces the linear solenoid and cleaned the other and tested with multi tester which they all seem fine.. please any advise on this... i love the way the car runs.. When she's not trying to throw me thru the window. ???

Have you replaced the TPS? If it's not the TPS then it's your tranny going
