OK so i was going to the race in Dover, DE (about 45min from my house) on Monday and i soon as get into town my check engine light comes on. I wasn't to concerned because it would come on and go off every once and awhile and i never noticed any change in power/noise so i was pulled over, popped the hood and check to make sure everything is buttoned up vac lines etc... nothing unusual so i close the hood and get back into the car and pull off but i noticed i slight bog when i got into vtec @ the secondary(around 4 grand) and i think to myself... its gotta do something w/ my vtec control.... so i stay outta it on the way home and plug in my OBDII code reader.... and sure enough P1253 pops up......VTEC CONTROL MALFUNCTION F#ck! now it has a slight bog from 2 grand on(when vtec initially kicks in)...
i don't wanna just disconnect my battery and reset it only to have it come back on...
anyone who has had this problem or knows someone who has had it lemme know what you/they had to do.... Id appreciate it....

I don't see a P1253 in the service manual.

There's P1259: A problem in the VTEC Pressure Switch circuit or VTEC Solenoid Value circuit. It's a lengthy trouble flowchart that ends in fixing wiring to/from VTEC pressure switch and/or solenoid value; or replacing VTEC pressure switch; or replacing VTEC solenoid value.
