Sometime my car starts real rough like it's not getting gas and then when it's driving if I give 3/4+ throttle, the car kind of lags (you can actually feel it pull back) and then it surges forward fast as if I've just come off the clutch. It's does not do it all the time can anyone give me some suggestions on what I should look at

 

Check your iac valve

 

iac valve usually only affects idle control, not when your above 5-10% throttle.

When is the last time the car had a tuneup? NGK plugs, NGK wires, new cap/rotor?

Do you know how to check your timing? Make sure the marks line up when at TDC.

Also get a fuel pressure gauge. You could have low fuel pressure causing a loss of power sometimes.
