A/C Compressor removal
I am going to go to a local junkyard to salvage a "new" a/c compressor.
I am going to get a mechanic to install the one i salvage, yet i have to get the part off the junk car myself.
I have the following questions:
How do i get it off?
Isnt it the same compressor as 94-02 (2.2L or 2.3L) Accords?

I know 94 Accords used two different compressors (Hadsys and Nippodenso) that were not compatible (hose connection locations different). I don't know if this persisted through 97.
Remove PS pump, alternator, and finally AC compressor. On junk cars, you may find PS pump and alternator already removed.
Acura/Honda compressors are notoriously reliable. What's the matter w/ your original? I installed a rotating shaft seal on my 94 Accord EX Hadsys compressor for $25 and it's still cooling great.
good luck

My original is making horrible sounds. I work for a car dealership, so i had several mechanics look at it. They say the clutch and/or the bearing is broken or bad. All i know is that the pulley or wheel or whatever (im not very car savvy) is shaking alot and is actually grinding against the nearby metal on the converter. They said i need a new one. I agree, because my A/C is also not working, a problem that arose a month ago, the compressorwas getting voltage, but not turning on. Then the shaking started a couple weeks later.
i looked yesterday, and it seemed like 4 bolts will set the compressor free, and the belt on the junk car will just need to be cut or pryed off. Preferably cut so im not putting any stress on the compressor wheelie magigger.
PS: Im the IT guy at the dealership, had i been any other position, i should be shot for not knowing why way around a car.
Let me know what you (or anyone else) thinks.

If your system is still charged (likely), you may be able to simply install a new clutch and bearing to repair w/o discharging/recharging. You would do this by removing the PS and alternator, and disconneting the compressor from the mount. This allows enough slack to rotate the compressor into a position to remove the clutch/bearing system. You will need a set of C-ring removal pliers to remove the C-ring that retains the clutch coil to the compressor. Unless you have an oily ring and oil around the end of the compressor, your compressor is probably OK, just a defective clutch bearing, a not uncommon problem.
