Big Trouble

I took my 99cl to advanced auto parts after my light went off during my road trip. As I pull off and stop at a red light, the car shifts abnormally hard during the first few gears accelerating. (I think it might be a censor concerning the timing of shifts.) However, I come to find out there must be a significant leak near the top of the radiator as well--taking a gander at the coolant puddles forming on the fan guard. Also, they found my engine light to read the code PO740, TCC Circuit Malfunction.

I filled the reserve with fresh coolant and it did improve the shifting, however its not holding up.

Are these two problems related with the cl shifting incredibly hard?

What does PO740 TCC Circuit Malfunction mean?

I thank you all for your attention and much appreciated assistance.

Kind Regards,
Trapped in foreign town
