best manual tranny gear oil?

Question best manual tranny gear oil?

ive heard various positions on this topic. im lookin into doin a drain and fill soon and wanted to know what others have found to be the best. also, how many quarts are needed for the 2.2?

Most people suggest the manuf suggested lube.

yeah honda's oem stuff is real good. question though.. why are you changing your fluid on a manual trans?

its gear oil...because its good for the transmission

GM syncromesh is another popular choice..i dont have any personal experience with it tho, i drive an auto

If you dont regularly grind gears, theres really no need to change the trans fluid regularly. i plan on doing it at 100k miles (but ill do a full flush and swap) just because my car will probably be 15 years old at that point.

well my car is at 130k and i just got it like 3 months ago. and seeing as how i dont know when the previous owner put fresh gear oil in there im gona take it upon myself to do it along with some other tune up stuff just for the peace of mind

i cant disagree with that, i did mine when i first got it at 50k i figure every 50k or 4 years is a safe bet for me.

I have a 1999 acura cl and it has 184,000 miles. i was having issues with 2nd gear grinding if the rpm's were above 4500. I flushed the transmission fluid and put honda manual trasnmission fluid and it took about a month and now i have no more second gear grind.
