2.2CL AT - OEM LH Axel Shaft Replacement Help

1997 2.2CL Auto...Tried to replace the driver side axel/cv shaft., but I cannot locate the proper sized new one. Checked around the web and the stores, and it seems the shaft i removed is about 4inches longer than anything I can find. Also, the OEM shaft has a harmonic damper at the midway point of the shaft but none of the replacement shafts do. The guy at the parts store says that the old shaft is longer b/c of the ABS ring. This explanation seems like BS. I was holding both shafts at the counter and the only difference appears to be the actual length of the shaft. Anybody come across this before? Is there something I am missing?

Item#2 part#44011-SV1-A60 $227

the shafts are readily available at $70, but they are all too short. I have ordered one for $140 that supposedly will fit, part#42021024501.

Any help is appreciated!

i havent done axel's yet, but i will be so i kinda peeked at them before and i think they are the same as the 1997 accords, (see noob guide) but there might be a diff. between the 2.2 and the 2.3,...???? i do know that you want both axels to be the same lenght, as to what the o.e.m. or what others will work im not certain. accord, civic, prelude, integra might all work? ? ?
