Hey board, this is my first post. I just bought a 98 acura cl 3.0 last week and love the car. I am worried though because my car is kind of jumpy around 1st and 2nd gear when driving at low RPMs. My mechanic mentioned that Acura recalled a lot of these transmissions and I don't know if it is too late to still get the transmission fixed (if thats even the problem). I already had to replace the EGR on it, but I don't know if it is already too late for the transmission recall. The car only has 75,000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Well i dont know about any transmission recall, that's the first ive ever heard of it being recalled, but yes, the 3.0 has a weak tranny, and if yours is jumpy it's probably on it's way out.

 

no tranny recall on the 1st gens, 2nd gens only. Sorry. The 3.0 trannies don't handle the power too well too long, so look at a rebuild.

 

anyway you can return it? too bad your mechanic didn't catch this before you bought it. the replacement tranny will cost you
