engine help mine is dead

hello first off i have a 1998 cl 2.3 5-speed! my f23a1 is dead! i need another motor (swap) or rebuild my old one but i dont have much money and i dont like headaches is there a motor that is easy to put in, and cheap, and be more powerful than the f23 i have been thinking about the f20b and the h22 but thats really all i know i need yalls help the easier and cheaper the better but keep in mind i would like to have more power!!! and also i would need parts lists for each swap. thanks in advance!!!

There is a mount kit for the k24 but it would require a lot of work, the h22 uses the stock motor mounts and drops right in, search around for h22* or swap because several members have them in their CL's

i found where Palayh8ta did the swap for the h22 but seems he had some troble but i guess anything like this will have a few bugs to work out. would like to talk to him but i cant figure out how to pm him. and also i want to keep my f23 5speed so what clutch and flywheel would i use??

How cheap is cheap? A replacement F23 is probably something like $500. An H22 from a used engine reseller is about $2k plus a few hundred for shipping. I like the K24 idea, but I don't know what those go for.

If you aren't doing the swap yourself, you'll need another $500 for labor. While you're doing the swap it always good to replace the belts, water pump and maybe even the oil pump.

i'd go h23 its hard to find parts and all but it is a solid motor
