Dents and Painting
I was planning on taking my cl to a paint shop to get it resprayed but the car has dents on both doors nothing huge but its noticible.
I have heard before that if you sand back the paint and fill the dents yourself it wound be cheaper.
Makes sense but I'd like a second opinion I have the tools to sand it down and I can figure out filling but wondering if its worth it or just a waste of time?

how good the paint job relies on the prep job.
poor prep job and you'll have a poor paint job.
to prep the car properly, involves lots of man hours via labor. this involves sanding down clear and paint, taking out any dents, and taping up the car.
this is why its expensive to prep and why the advice "if you do it yourself, you can save lots of money" comes about.

Thanks man I'm not averse to hard work and I'm looking for any opportunity I can get to work on my car cause its my first and I have always wanted to work on one myself

It's a waste of time unless you're experience or know someone who is experience in the art of autobody and/or paint repair that is willing to help or at least willing to guide you.

I don't think I'm going to do the painting myself
I'll probably take it to a professional shop cause I want the whole thing resprayed
I just don't want to pay for all the extra sanding and filling labour

the fender of the car will have to be blended into with the door.
because when you paint at different times, it will be lighter or darker than the original and wont look the same. so, the fenders will have to be blended into with the door.
you might as well go and get a few quotes from a few different body shops.

Check with the shop first, some shops won't touch a car if it's already been prepped
