Clearer headlights for $4
I was readin around on forums and saw this guy who used brasso to return his iPod to its original shine. So I did so to mine, then it hit me, Brasso and my CL's Headlights. Oh god the prettyness it brought back.
Supplys:
Brasso
Cloth Towel
Windex
Some kind of glossing wax
Before.
1. Spray and clean the headlight with windex, make sure its clean.
2. Apply brasso to cloth towel and rub gently onto headlight until it feels smooth.
3. Let brasso dry for 5 minutes
4. Spray down again with windex and wipe off.
5. Repeat, until desired.
6. Apply a small amount of was and rub it then let it dry. Wipe off wax. This step is to make the headlight look even better. I think so.
The finished product of 10 minutes, due to rain I couldnt keep on cleaning. . But you get the Idea.
For 10 minutes and $4, this turned out really good. You decide.
Enjoy!

I used some kind of spray on wax, like the wax while you dry sprays.

If you got a buffer of some sort itll work wonders. But if you use somehting like that expect to coiver up the body and junk around the light because it will splatter everywhere. I used a dremel with the buffing pad and it worked awsome but, it splettered a bit too much.Oh yeah, if you use a dremel, alway, and ALWAYS have contant motion, never let the pad stay in one sport for one half a sec, it will make marks. I have 2 small ones on my other headlight

Thanks for sharing, Orlando. Good pics too. Reminds me of when I was in Miami a couple years ago for work and I noticed all the cars down there had headlights all glazed over like yours. Must be the blazing sun! Looks good.

Yeah use mcguires clear plastic polish. it works wonders. I think mothers makes one as well. besides you could also use it on your plastic gauge cluster too. Brings out a good shine and doesn't have the harmfull chemicles that brasso might have in it, since it is made for metal I would be carefull. Maybe even use an all purpose cleaner first then the plastic cleaner/polish.

i went to cvs, and they didnt have brasso, so i bought "liquid metal polish" made by BlueMagic and "Scratch Out" by Kit
"liquid metal polish" worked better for this
my headlights aren't bad enough to see a difference in pics, so here's my stepfather's lexus lights i did.. they were really bad before, and look completely different now.. the pics really dont show how much of a difference there is, but here they are
here is a shot of when i did about half of the right headlight.. you can see in the first pic the difference between the affected and unaffected halves.
the next pic is a close up of the unaffected spot, and the next is a close up of the affected spot
it also made my front grill look 50 times better..
im going to wash the car tomorrow and use this stuff a little more, so maybe ill take more pics

a lot better.. but STILL not great.. the road/beach has totally screwed these things up..
ive sanded with 1000 + 2000 grit sand paper, meguiars #10 plastic polish, paint polish (clpower told me to try that), nevr-dull,
now im going to try hybridnrg's polish and his dremel w/ polishing pad..when the sun comes out ill take pics because when its overcast it looks fine

Just cleaned my headlights
I didn't use brasso. Instead, I bought a headlight restoration kit from Walmart for $20. It had 2 packets of wax-like cleaner, 4 packets of sealer (feels like a watery glue, but applies on clear), 2500 grit sandpapers, another grit type of sandpapers, 2 "hydro weave" cloths, and one latex-free glove.
It took me about 30 minutes to finish both headlights because I was taking my time and it turned out great! I saw this a few months ago but passed because of the price. After trying GooGone as suggested from another thread (didn't work), I thought I'd give it a shot.
Sorry, I accidentally deleted the before pic so I only have an after pic:
