3.0 swap and tranny

I recently bought a J30a1. I got everything under the hood, and I mean EVERYTHING. I know what it takes to swap it, so please no comments saying its a waste of time or anything like that. I have a F23 with simple bolt on mods and a stock rebuild tranny, and it is just not fast enough for me. I have seen threads about putting the CL-S 6 speed behind it. I would love to do that, but thats a little pricey unless I can find one in the junkyard (doubt it). I also know the v6 accords 5 speed will work as well. The CL's auto tranny is a piece of shit! I will have nothing but a manual. I have done manual swaps before, theres really nothing to it. I would really appreciate any advice (besides shooting me down) anyone could give. Is it worth finding the 6 speed? or should I just go with the 5 speed? I plan on making a good bit of horsepower (nothing ridiculous) and need to know if the tranny will hold up. I'm thinking turbo 3.0.... How much boost can a stock motor handle before upgrading injectors, fuel pump, etc.

My project is just now beginning and I'm sure this will take me a while to build. When I'm done, I just want to have something that is quite unique and that I am proud of.

There is no Accord 5 speed manual for the 3.0. It was a 6 speed as well. Biggest major difference is it has no lsd. Other than that, you'll need some sort of module when you swap to manual so the ecu thinks the auto tranny is there. Everything else is pretty straigh forward. Don't really know about the boost, but AEM does make a stand alone now for the early gen J motors......

Also, are there any kind of forged internals? I have not been able to find any, so I'm guessing not.

if you are going to swap a 6 speed in it there is a guy on here that makes a module for the swap so you will not have to change ECU, it makes the computer think the automatic is still in there and will not throw any codes or anything so it will not be in limp mode. In his thread they were testing it on the TL which was a 5 speed auto but he mentioned that he knew it worked great with the 4 speed transmissions (think he was talking about the older model TL's) but you may want to look into that because it seems to be a great way to save some money and do the same thing. Just look in the TL section but if you can not find the thread let me know I think I have it saved somewhere but getting ready to leave for the weekend so it will have to wait until I get back home to update this

he won't have enough space to do one in our cars.you would need to cut through the firewall. Cocoa had the same problem using thinjim's turbo and decided to not to do it.

I don't know if you ever found the thread about the module I was talking about above and just found this thread again but here is a direct link to the thread https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-116/yo-richiev6-699063/

Just so you know, I am a female..

I appreciate everyone's input. I figured I would only be pushing about 5lbs. This will become ONE of my many play cars once I do the swap, so I'm not worried about having to cut the firewall. As long as I don't have to cut the front grill like the twin turbo, I'll be fine.

I definitely will! I will be a while though. I just had a baby in January and I am in Nursing school full time. I've been really busy lately! I'll keep everyone posted though.

Well, to keep up to date. I have found a wrecked running 1999 TL (j32) that I can get for cheap. Can I just swap subframes, or do I need to do custom mounts and everything for it to go in? I still have the subframe and EVERYTHING with the j30 that I plan to sell if I can do the 3.2 any ideas/advice?

i have no experience myself in this field but want to put in the auto 5 speed in my cl so in intrigued by your build,..

ive watched videos on putting the j-blocks in civics, i know they have to fab special mounts (all 4) but as the cl's have j blocks as an option im assuming it depends on the difference in mounts from the j30 to the j32. i hope they are the same cause if i do a 5 speed im doing the j32 as well.

might i also add that im very pleased to see the fem's enjoying car builds, where im from every girls plan is to be a trophy wife so its good to see one want/like getting their hands dirty for fun. you go girl.
