Xenon Headlight Bulbs
Just got myself a 99 CL 3.0. Want to replace the stock headlight bulbs with a xenon one. What features do I need to consider so that the new bulbs will not cause any wiring and/or lens damage? Can anyone recommend any brand? Thanks!

Depends what you are looking for...
If you want a bulb that has a nice bluish tint and is really bright you can go to www.coolbulbs.com and get either nokya, raybrig, or polarg... I ran the nokya's for months and I really loved the color. The only thing about these bulbs is the run very hot and most of them are 80w to 100w bulbs. But our wiring can handle that except sometimes if you have like 120w bulb in the highs on for awhile that may cause damage. All these bulbs give you that "HID affect" or somewhat of replica. The nokya's are only 15.00 at www.adventon.com. But the output of these bulbs makes driving in bad conditions pretty poor. I never had a problem with driving in the rain with the nokya's but alot of people complain about visibility in bad weather.
Or you can get a bulb with more of a stock look but with a brighter light output. For example you can buy PIAA's or Silverstars. These bulbs dont burn at such a high wattage and will usually last much longer then the "Hyperwhite" hid looking bulbs. It's all about what you want. Just don't buy the cheepo bulbs for example APC cause they will only last like a month or two! You can also consider a 9005 conversion where your low beams run more watts, but im too sure about that.
And remember dont touch the bulb with your finger when you put them in, this cuts the live of the bulb considerably.

Ya best mod done to my car soo far... HID's
Xenon Bulbs - 15.00
Changing them in 6 months - 30.00
Expensive ugly piaa - 75.00
8000K Hid Kit - 350
The look on local ricers eyes at night - PRICELESS!
For everything else there is the 9005 conversion.

the first question is are you going for looks or functionality?
if its looks then just buy whatever.
if its functionality i would buy piaa platinum white 9005s and put them in your low beam. that will net the best output for the most part and because it isnt some imitation xenon bulb you will actually have some light when it rains.
if u buy a xenon conversion kit for $400-500 be prepared to get pulled over and eventually have to take them out. (unless you live somewhere that had no real police force) if you want real xenon then youll have to go all out and do a true xenon conversion. projector or reflector. projector is superior for the most part.
and if u go higher wattage dont run anything over 70watts otherwise your askin for it. melted wiring harness will ruin your life. upgrade your wiring harness if u go high wattage or xenon kit or conversion.
trust me i have have personal experience im not just talkin about what i've heard.

I need some info on your kit. Where did you get everything, how hard was the install, what do you need?

and i do not have a kit. i custom fit bmw bi-xenon projectors into my oem housings which are powered by audi hella ballasts and osram d2s bulbs. my setup is illegal, but my lighting looks exactly like an oem new bmw so i've been able to sneak by unnoticed cuz most have no idea that my acura doesnt come with them from the factory.
im not telling you not to get a kit, but for the same $$$ if u do the work yourself, you can have a far superior system to any kit out there. and you will prob never be harrased by the cops or bother other drivers.
my setup the parts alone are worth about $1500 new, but used price figure bout 700-800. i bought brand new headlamps so another $450. and i did the labor myself. i spent about 20hrs customizing my headlamps. and this is my 6th xenon projector conversion. the bi-xenons made it extremely difficult vs a reg xenon projector. for me to duplicate my exact setup figure $1200. minus $450-500 if u use ur current headlamps. also for most i would reccomend a standard xenon conversion which would cost you bout $600 for me to duplicate. example of this is my old audi tt projector setup. heres old pics.

Still trolling
I can replace my cheap fake Xenons for the life of my car and never hit the rediculous cost of a HID upgrade. What a monster waste of money.
But they do look good
But they do look good
