wow i love toothpaste

so this morning i got into a minor fender bender at school where we just barely scraped bumpers and traded paint. both cars were left with some white streaks of paint (mine a lot worse than the other person's).

and ive spent all night reading online and ive read that toothpaste helps remove the white streaks of paint/scuffs.

i decided to try this, and it really works! this is such an amazing discovery. i just hope the other owner will let me do this on her car and we'll be cool. =)

lesson is: use toothpaste, it works!

i just applied it on the spot with an application pad that i use for waxing. i actually put it on just like wax in a circular motion. i waited a couple minutes and then wiped it clean with a damp microfiber cloth.

Since toothpaste has a little "grit" to it, it works like some cutting or polishing compounds..

There's plenty of those types of tricks discussed over on the wash and wax forum:

Clay bar usually works too. So will Mr Clean Magic eraser but just remember that the eraser is abrasive.

Haha yeah, I always remove it right away with toothpaste cuz I always carry around a tube of toothpaste with me. Polishes and polishing compounds do the same thing like GreenMonster said. but probably better.
