Wiring Autometer Gauges..

Anyone wired these to the factory dimmer. My first attempt has them dimming when the dash lights get brighter and vice versa.

Guess I need to drink after working on the car and not during.

I used the middle of the three wires going to the dimmer. Dont use this one. Any ideas?

The wire I used varied from 8V to .22V while turning the knob. I thought itd be the right one....apparently not.

Do you know which of the other two I need.

I know every one of you have the reverse xenon dayglo hyper neon indigo girls gauges, which wires did you use for the 12V+.

Do you have a voltmeter? I've encountered the same problem & you just need to use a different combination of wires... sorry I'm not being more helpful, but that's all I can remember at this point.

Connect the power wire to the Red with Black lines wire and the ground to the Black wire.

I did the same thing as you the first time I wired my indiglows because I figured I'd go with solid red and solid black to wire it to.

Switch the red and you'll be fine

Is it ok to not power it up through the dimmer switch? My indiglos already use that and they be fuxed as it is.

Can I just power the light and power connection and not worry about being able to change the light intensity?

BTW...anyone put in a water temp guage before? The Air/Fuel looks pretty easy, but the water temp guage has this metal sensor part you're supposed to install. Is it gonna be a real pain in the ass and I should just let someone do it for me?

I installed the water temp in my car. Its not that hard the way I did it. The only catch is the stock water temp on the car will not work. If you want intructions to do it that way let me know and I'll post them.
