windsheild speedometer

i was at my local speed shop today and saw an ad for an aftermarket digital speedometer/tachameter that projects it on the windsheild. has any one tried this? (i dont think any one has done this).

Can you tell us what the name of the product is? I'm interested in looking into that. I've seen it done on the Corvette and that's a really cool feature to have.

I believe that it projects it right at the bottom of the windshield.

Pretty shitty pic, but you get the idea.

Here is another one.

Defi VSD Basis and VSD Concept, HUD units is probably what it is and at 200 bucks its probably the Basic model......... itll wash out in direct sunlight more than likely and if you cant run the install yourself dont bother........ the Concept model is loads better, but it requires the 100 dollar control module and the extra sensors (temp sensors run about 100 bucks and pressure sensors are around 160) and all that

on a side not the VSDs are DISCONTINUED theyll probably release a revamp later, but for now its gone, so if you want it DO IT NOW, but if you ask me, its a waste of money

Vettes came with them stock back when I was in high school. I don't know and cannot speak for the newer vettes on the road.

HUDs came stock in a few different GM cars, I test drove a '98 Grand Prix Gt that had it back when I was in HS. It's a neat feature, but I wouldn't imagine it works all that well during the day. I've only played with them at night and it's pretty nice for those cars, since they're all autos and you don't have to pay attention to RPMs. Personally, I'd rather have a tach projected on my windshield.
