I just purchased a used 99 3.0 CL and took the car over to a local tint shop to get my back three window tinted and to get the 3M hood protector installed. After waiting for a few hours for this to get done, the shop manager comes back and said he could not do the tint as the Bose amp is too sensitive and that he may damage it??

He said the edging for the tint around the back window is too close to the bose amp wiring and he did not want to risk it was his explanation.

I think this is BS but for those that had the tint done, have you heard any problems like this?? I think he was being lazy and did not want to do the job. Got a good price for the 3M protector but I still want to get the tint done and would like your guys/gals input.

BS...he's probably lazy. I have my rear tinted with no problems at all. Only this is, on the top of the window there's those little dots called matrix i think not sure. They just have problem with the tint sticking to it, but you can't really notice it. Look for another shop

That is the lamest excuse ever!!! The only thing that is a risk is the fact that the defroster may not work, that is if they screw up. But there should absolutely be no prob.

i got tint and no prob with the bose......i mean, no MECHANICAL problems with the bose....quality is another story

Tell him the Bose was screwed up before it was installed in the car at the factory.

Seriously, I think he's probably reffering to our printed antenna on the rear glass. He prob thought it was cool to say it'll fuck up your Bose.
