Window regulator swap, can it be done?

Got pulled over some night last week for the limo tint. I'm driving and just as I'm approaching a 4-way intersection, a cop stops at the street on my right. I tried to roll my windows down, but by the time I get in his view, they're only halfway down. Tails me a for a bit then the lights come on. Tells me to get it taken care of and lets me go.

I was thinking, is it possible to swap our regulators with a pair from a 2nd gen? You guys all know how slow our windows roll down, even after the silicone spray fix, it's still pretty damn slow. I'm thinking about going to the junkyard and trying it. What do you guys think? Anybody try this before?

P.S.
Got pulled over for no front plate the week before. WTF. Got away with another "get it taken care of." Lucky #4 knock on wood.

i doubt it, I've replaced one of those in my boys CLS, and it looks slightly off from what ours is. I wanted to do it too, but I think no dice.

I did a side by side of his old one and my extra drivers side I have, and I would say no go.
