Window regulator broke.....sigh....

I was pulling out of the school parking lot and went to roll down my window, and POP, the window doesn't move. So I'm like "Ok?" then it starts slooooooooooooooowly sliding down on it's own. I'm thinking "Oh great, I'm fucked on this one". So I take it down to Classic Honda and see what's up. I figure it's the window regulator, since I always hear about them messing up on here. YEP, that's what it is, and it's going to cost me $350 to fix it. SO until then I have a piece of cardboard wedged between the door and window.....

And, just to mess with a salesman, when they pulled my car up to the front, you can see it through the windows of the showroom, so I went up to a salesman and said "Where can I get a car like that?" He was so bewlidered and finally stammered "It's a customer's car....You can't buy it here." So I stormed off like I was pissed, then went and climbed in.....you should have seen the guys face, :o

I had no probs with my doors.. then last year. I took my car to flagstaff around this time... Both the door locks, and window regluators broke.... I think the grease broke down with the drastic change in temp or somthing. I still have no power locks though... Been meaning to get to that.

In case anyone is interested.... I still have the original regulator available. It still works well.

Our problem last fall was that our cable snapped. The mechanic replaced the entire assembly.

So if anyone needs a used working regulator, let me know.

I have a 97 3.0CL 72K miles, sounds like I have symptom of broken driver side regulator. Does someone have pointer for replacement instructions? I see regulartor assembly part posted for appx $100. It is a bolt on replacement or require adjustments or special tools?

My drivers side regulator went at 73,000 miles.. but as I recall the same thing happened when I was driving a GM, but at 105,000 miles. Figure that one out.. passenger's side regulator is also going.

I would never take the risk of installing that part myself.. b/c if I screw up putting that back in, I screw up big.. dealer wasn't as bad as I thought but I thought I should have got the car back washed, the bill was $1100 with the brake work added in. Also they had it for a week.

[QUOTE=Minch00]I was pulling out of the school parking lot and went to roll down my window, and POP, the window doesn't move.
