Why is my ABS light on?

Ok,

so legendary98CL comes, and we swap gauges....his ABS light comes on, and mine comes on....both of ours were off when we were going to my house.

He has a 98, i have a 97. Would that cause some kind of problem?

I checked my brake fluids...they're both between "MIN and MAX". Anyone know what else?

I tried unpluggin the battery, then plug it back in after 10 mins, and it didn't change.

ANyone? I'm selling the car soon, someone will check it out soon and i wanna get rid of it...

97=hub over rotor
98=rotor over hub...not sure if this would have anything to do with it, but it might have a diffrent wiring in the back....and if its just a glitch...goto the archives and find the thread on reseting it...then, if it comes back on..you might have to switch back and reset and see if it comes on again, if it doesnt, then your problem is within the gauges

do u mean the indiglos or layover guages? cause those wont do anything and they all fit, if your talking about the actual assembly, then you have a problem

use the paperclip technique and jumper the connector below your glove box and see what codes you pull up

i would think the abs might have to do with the egr maybe cause i think my abs came on when my egr was clogged but i got it fixed under the warrenty

shit, well my car's ABS light came on for a second the day after I got it, but then I turned the car off and restarted it and it was fine. Then, just yesterday I started up my car and the weather was REALLY COLD, and I hadn't driven it for a couple days, and the brake light came on, you know, the one that's on when you have the e-brake up... yeah, and it stayed on for a while, and it turned off when I would brake, and turn back on when I stopped braking, but it went away... weird. I hope my brakes aren't fucked up. The rotors look virtually untouched in the back, nad the front ones look like they were either just resurfaced, or never used... the front ones have indents in them, like if a pebble got stuck int he brake pads, and scratched a indent all the way around them, except that these "scratches" cover the whole thing... is this bad?

dankeschoen herr wilp. It was really cold out compared to when i got it, so the fluid was probably really condensed, so it "lowered" the level of brake fluid in there. I'll just top it off.

About the rotors.. are the scratches fine? They aren't like tiny scratches, the whole thing is like a damn record except all the indents are uneven.
