Whistling sound from injen shortram
What up my fellow VTEC drivers, aight the story goes like this, did the installation myself, i ordered a injen intake short ram for a 98 v6 accord, got it and installed it, but when i push it on the street, i hear the intake sound but i also hear a whistling sound, it doesnt sound right, i went to some mechanic and he said its normal for v6 engines, but i dont know it sounds like BS to me, gimme feed back peeps. anyone, please!!! i aint feeling this sound.
P.S. the instruction also said to connect the vacum hose to the water by pass valve, what is that about?

yea the sound is normal for the v6 engines with just a intake, my friend also has a v6 accord with the injen intake and it also made that sound, and many others i know makes the same noise, just gotta break in the intake i guess

i have that same thing man and its roars with the short ram and it does whistle. does your intake hum loud. i can hear my car coming into the apt complex when i let me gf drive it. me and my friends all it the og hum, its so loud, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mm 
i have the same thing. click my sig you can see pics of it there. the injen are nothing compared to the aem and ive tried both and i prefer the injen over aem anyday but aem lovers prefer aem anyday but its preference, i like to be loud and obnoucious so the intake fit for my car

I have kind of a whistling sound...more of a humming noise and i have the 2.2 four cylinder w/ a matrix air intake. I noticed it after i had my radiator, trans, and brakes flushed. As well as a new distributor cap and new spark plugs. It didnt do it before then. I took it back to the mechanic and he said that he noticed that noise as well and said it was air whistling around the throttle plate, or some shit like that. It only happens when it idles when i add gas it seems to go away. I hope to god this isnt bad...wondering if it happened to someone else?

ok good looking fellas. i feel so releaved. i thought that i was going to fuck up my engine or something, i will post pics real soon, hey i went to your website and saw the pics that u had wit the injen, and my injen is slightly different from yours, its polished but instead of saying injen on a sticker, its on a plate and says some other things. like i said, pics coming soon after i install my sony cdx-m800 cd reciever on it. thanks guys.

Welcome to the club, they all whistle and HUM like a MF....Im thinking of going COLD AIR setup to decrease the HUMM. IT was cool at first...now its getting old. Some chick last weekend was like, "Wow your card is really loud" She said it like she was annoyed...LOL F-her...

Yeah i had a Weapon R dragon that was a short ram and a hard core whistler. "The whisles go woooooooooooooooooo". "You wanna wooooooooo woooooooooo" Why do i think thats so funny?!?!?! Anyway, i had it for about 5 months and decided i didnt want to clean the foam filter so i would just sell it when it came time. So, i sold it, and now im copping the aem cai, and it still whistles like "woooooooo" But seriously, i noticed a SLIGHT difference in noise, not enough to buy a CAI and ditch the short ram. The aem def adds moe ponies though. But the noise of the short ram and CAI are almost identical IMO, and i couldnt tell you the difference on my car. BTW, i have a 3.0

but i dont really hear it that loud,
