Where Are You, You 700 HP Beast!?!?!?!
I heard from a guy at my work that theres a 700 HP 97' 2.2 rollin around Kansas City... 700 HP!?!?! From what he said, there was a mini car show at the local Hooters In Independence Missouri. Now i donno if he lives in Indepencence but i guess he did have Missouri tags.
My friend at work told me he talked to the guy. (my friend knowticed the car cuz it looked just like mine)
The guy said it was a 97' 2.2 CL...its black with a white hood, had no exterior mods visible except for a 4" exhaust. (a real sleeper! lol )
The engine was a 2003 crate motor NEW from acura...(it had the cams ontop so im thinkin maybe a B16 or some integra motor?? (you motor knowledge guys would know) The guy has this new motor dropped in with 2 (YES TWO) turbos on it. The white fiberglass hood has 2 scoops on either side to bring in the air. He had his CAI hooked up to the turbos somehow and i guess the whole engine was decked out...he said he was pushin 700HP....
Now i donno if this is all true, i DO know what my friend DID see all this and the new motor and 2 turbos but the owner might be fluffin on the 700hp...BUT CAN U IMAGINE!?!

complete and utter bullshit, the only honda motors out there making near that power are the drag cars. Now, I could believe a wild 400-500 HP h22a in there.

sounds to me like this guy is full of shit. Telling people he has two turbos trying to make the car sound faster than it is. In reality most people who are looking for 400+ hp go with a single turbo setup. A 700 hp cl would be cool, but just seems out of the realm of possibility given the current production line of motors honda produces. The guy would have to be driving around with slicks on to get any kind of traction at all. A 700 hp FWD car would chew through regular tires every time you tried to start forward.
Anywho, let me know if you get a hold of this guy and get some pics of his engine, i'm interested to see what he really has.

still that wild of an h22a is not that common, it'd be one hell of a beast though

also it is possible it's a twin turbo 4 banger, i've seen them before
or even a twin tc'd type S motor

they do if the turbos are pretty small. My buddy has a twin setup on a type R motor.
The car is pretty quick, although he did it more to be different. I think a single would put down more power.

No, he didn't disclose the 40 stickers at 10 hp each giving him an extra 400 hp to the alleged 300 hp under the hood for the total of 700hp!!!!

I'm with nicholbr. I'm no genius, but I believe 700 hp would be too much for a FWD. If he was running 700 hp with comparable torque, he'd probably fishtail or flip his car forward, haha.

my firend or well, guy i work with is 35 years old...he knows what he sees...i mean he builds hot rods in his spair time...their were other cars their like a 54 chevy with a blown 502 and some tacoma on bags with a naked girl on the dash from being air brushed....im sure he knows what he saw...but the owner could be bull shittin the 700 hp....my friend said they were small turbos...like 16/?? or ??/16 (maybe B/16?) i donno how thay classify or name turbos....he did say it was a 5 or 6 speed also.....or, and when he said the guy tore outta the parking lot, he said its like nothin he had heard before...

you all can believe what u want, i believe he saw a 97 2.2 with 2 turbos and a 03' acura motor...the guy saying it pushed 700 hp was more than likely lying....theres another car show in a week or 2....i'll be going just to see if i can find this guy. . .
BTW: anyone ever heard of 6-10 turbos?? thats what the guy said he had...

only thing I can think of now since it's an 03 motor is it's most likely a twin turbo CLS motor. I'll wait to see what you find out when you see the car in person. I hope you prove us wrong

the place ( independence missouri) is about 45 min away from where i live..i really nevber go over there but my friend said there will be another show at that hooters in a few weeks..when the next one comes..im definitly goin...hopfully i can find this mystery myth man....

Dude, I live in Emporia for college, but I go home to Kansas City all of the time, that is where I am orginally from. I will keep my eye out, But I have never seen him before, and I am always out with the street racing crowd on weekends. So, right now I have to call.......

dude i know!!...ive lived in overland park for 7 years now! i NEVER go over by independence unless i go to KCIR raceway...and i know our "mystery man" has missouri plates so maybe he never gets over to overland park or around that area. . .maybe that why we havnt seen him...i DO trust my friend, i know he woudnt make this up...i mean, he probably wouldnt even of knowticed the car or talked to the guy but sence we always talk about out "projects" and he knows my car prettty well, he said he saw it, it looked just like mine and he went to see what the guy had done to it...i believe everything my friend said except for the HP ratings...there would of been no proof to that. but i believe my friend about the dual hood scoop white hood new 03 engine with the cams ontop and 2 turbos....im sure the guy was fluffin the HP rating....im Definitly going to keep an eye out and if this mini car meet/show comes around again, i will go and hopfully the other guy will be there too...

Thats cool, I know what you mean. We will have to get together in OP some weekend and just go searching for this guy. I hardly ever see CL's up there that have mods and stuff, so I'm sure he'll stick out like a sore thumb.

as far as the KC meet goes...we were suppost to have a 1st gen meet sometime but it kinda fell though...we might have to start another one up....?....maybe with 2nd gens too...

first off wtf is an '03 Acura Motor? the only motor that acutally have the word Acura on it is the V6....CL/TC/RL other than those...it all say Honda...and u said "over head cams" then it musta say honda. Who the hell will put a B16 in a CL...maybe..its hard to believe a b18. B20 i might believe.

correction...i said it wrong...its an 03 motor..with cams on top...probably honda..i donno what type.....and opps...i didnt know u have to pronounce it right... "twin turbos...it means the same thing..the guy had 2 of them..
