where are the security alarm points?
I'm taking in the car to the garage tomorrow to have it checked since the alarm keeps randomly going off. I've had some great advice so far which I'll share with my mechanic.
I noticed today that it went off when I got close to the back of the car with a shopping cart. I know that twice the alarm was set off by animals running beneath it. Can anyone tell me where the sensitive points are on an Acura 2.2 CL?

hmmmm..... the factory alarm is garbage and shouldnt go off from you being "near" it. that function would be a proximity sensor and the factory alarm aint got that. as far as animals running underneath setting it off doesnt make sense either cus it doesnt have a shock sensor that i know of. IMHO if you have some extra cash get a real alarm to protect your investment.

Load test your battery, also check the connections on your battery terminals, and the contacts on the doors to make sure they're closing all the way
Top on my list, BlackAckCL. My mechanic just loves it
when I arrive with a list of possible causes. This will be my first visit to him since I got the Acura. I'll bet he's hoping I don't come with my list. Haha. The battery and terminals and doors will be first on the list.

My mechanic took your suggestion to heart, BlackAckCL, but unfortunately he couldn't find one thing wrong with the car. Said the battery and terminals are fine. One issue is his computer system won't test the factory alarm. He's referred me to the manufacturer. He's also going to tell me which fuse to remove when not driving the car so I won't keep waking the neighbours. He figures it's one of the sensor points not meeting up but says it would cost me too much for him to check manually. He said it went off once on him and commented on it being very loud. Maybe the car just likes the attention it's getting.
Yeah... the factory alarm doesn't do much goodl, I locked my keys in the car the other day and used my cuz's triple A to get em out, the alarm didnot go off until the greasy towing guy got his giant coat hanger to unlock the door. (He had almost opened the door to get in there and it still didn't go off.)

Alllrighty....I seem to have fixed the problem of my alarm randomly going off myself.
My mechanic gave the car an electrical clear bill of health but he can't do the security so I would have to take it to Acura dealership. He showed me how to take out the fuse as a temp fix. I brought the car home and parked it. Later that day I took some bags out to put in the trunk to take to charity. I don't use my trunk very much. I'm looking at the area where the hood fits into body and realized it was sort of mucky. My car sits under a maple tree and there were a few maple keys in the edge. I whipped out my orange cleaner wipes and started cleaning out the goo. It was worse than it looked because I probably used up ten wipes. I did the front hood area for good measure. It's been four days and not a peep out of the girl. I blame my problem on maple keys and accumulated goo.
