What should I do?

Hey everyone, I'm a new CL owner... I just bought a 97 3.0 CL in January and I have finally gotten up the nerve to modify it, but I'm not sure what to do. I haven't seen any modified CL's around here yet (although it seems as though a bunch of you are from the DC area)... I want to lower it and get 17-inch wheels first. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go, what to get, what kind of correction kit I might need, etc? Thanks for your help if you can give any.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

What kind of drop are you looking for? If you are going for a very discreet look, go with the eibach prokits for a approx. 1.5" drop. Engine wise, there isn't much that is meant for our cars, but you can adapt a lot from previous and current accords. Intakes and headers seem to be the best for engine mods. Maybe a pulley kit.

Let us know what you would ultimately like Im sure someone will be along to help you out.

I'm sorry, I forgot to say how much I wanted to lower it... I'm looking in the 1.5-1.75" range. I have a friend with a '95 Accord that didn't think my car would be that much different from his, but he wanted me to find out "just in case".

Hello and welcome!! Like TW1112 said, there are some things made for our car, everything else can be borrowed from the 94-97 Accord. You'll see Intakes, Headers, springs, and some brake stuff for our car. The rest, like exhaust, etc. can be taken from the Accord. I agree with TW1112 on the drop too, most people go with the Eibach Prokits. The drop is nice, but not too much. You shouldn't need to worry about a camber kit either. If you go lower then that (about 1.5"), you will. Good luck and keep us updated!!

Hey CLGirl,

I'm from the area. I'm trying to have a little meet with a couple of the first generation CL guys at Tyson's II or someplace. Be nice to have ya. If interested email me at CLTypeR@hotmail.com
BTW, Eibach prokits don't lower enough... but that's my own opinion.. I've got H&R's and I dropped like 2" some... my tires are tucked... ever so slightly. Welcome to the forum.

Fastvtec. How do you like the pulley's so far? You just had them installed if I am not correct? Do you notice any power loss anywhere? I heard low end...but not sure. Something about climbing hills will be tougher now??

tw1112, yes you right i just got the AEM pullies, and i love them the car seem like it pulles harder now, i am going to the dyno later this week and i'll let you know about the hp gain. i was told we get 10hp to the wheels from them. as far as any problems i have not had anything seem wrong yet. also i am racing my car next weekend at rockingham NC in the battle of the imports, i'll post my times and tell you how much the pullies helped out

Fastvtec-- How well does your Vtec controller work. Did it make a noticable differnece or is it just a toy to play with, and where did you get your from. And does any one know where i can get some AEM pulleys for a 2.2.

eegret, so far i have got 15hp off the vtec controller, the more mods you have the more it helps out becouse you can adjust the setting on the controller to get more power. remember i might get more hp than you becouse i have V6 and not four cylinder, if you dont plan on getting cams, pullies, etc than it's just a toy. i got mine at www.speedstyles.com in north carolina. it is 420 dollars for the vtec controller, you can get the pullies there to

XEROTHERMIC, the accord 94-97 exaust fits our CLs you can get any exaust system between those years, the exaust fits the 3.0 and 2.2 or 2.3
