I use Castrol Syntec 5W-50 or Mobil 1 10W-30 or 5W-30. When I used to live up north I noticed that in cold weather (below 20 degrees F) my engine turned over immediately when using Syntec. With Mobil 1 it took just a split second longer.

Vavoline Durablend. It's a synthetic, natural blend that is very good for cold starts, and helps to keep seals and gaskets from hardening. It's worth the money. We use it at the dealership and everyone swears by it!

i could be wrong, which i more than likely am, but doens't it say that it is best to use Honda Tranmission Fluid? I don't know if it makes a difference but just the same I am curious?

Re-read my post. I say i drive a GTX.

Also, Honda stuff isnt always the best stuff (oil filters are terrible). Only when it comes to PS fluid really.(which is required to be honda only)

Right now, with 71K mi, I use regular Mobil 5W-30. I'll switch to Mobil1 probably around 75K.

at 121K my car started to whine also. The dealer said it could either be ther tensioner or the alternator. I'd love some REAL advise.
