What I've got to work with :ugh:
Alright, so I'm new to the forum and I figured I'd show you guys what I've got to work with. I just bought my 97 2.2 CL 5spd a few weeks ago. Its not in the best shape but with a little tlc, and a few bucks, he'll have a woman magnet built right in
Winter here in Nova Scotia is cold, dirty, and white--and that's pretty easy to tell in these pictures
The guy who owned it before me didn't take the best care of it (as you're about to see).
My rear end, fire plate and all

Dirty

The previous owner painted the stock rims black, I'm just going to take them off in the spring and use them as my winter rims.

He also painted the front grille black, however used the wrong kind of paint, and sense I have bought it the paint has been constantly chipping off of the grille.

Rear windows are tinted, but not the rear windsheild

Passenger side

When the previous owner debadged it, he put the Acura logo inside on the woodgrain--I like it though.

It has a pretty haggard deck that isn't even installed properly--that'll be the first to go.

It came with this "sweet" intake...

The piece de resitance: the shocker symbol ftw...well, ftl hahah
You can also see how the front driver`s side fender is bent in this picture. The guy before me was backing up and swung the front end into a parked truck (...moron), so I`ll be bending that out.

There we have it; my CL.
Im thinking about going all black--black rims (havn`t decided which yet), maybe that billet ebay grille painted in black, clear corners and headlights, and the overplayed tinted tails as well. Thats just exterior `thoughts`. I`ll sub out that ten dollar CAI for a SRI I think.
What do yooouuu think guys

and how the hell did you get that much snow in your engine bay?
Just a wash and wax isn't going to take all that off. You are going to need an agressive, clear coat safe paint cleaner. That is almost as bad as what my car look liked about a month ago when they were working on intense road construction right by the house. There was dirt and calcium rock haze everywhere and mixed with the morning dew, it all just settled on that car and caked on. Your gonna need a buffer as well.
^^^ yes he couldve brought it back to stock but the chrome would be the hardest to do IMO. it wouldn't be worth its to replace it. but the car still looks familiar to me though.

I dont think the above car is mine. That has a New Brunswick liscence plate on it, and the guy I bought it from had a Nova Scotian plate--however, that could be a picture from the guy who owned it before him
yeah, the prev. owner put it on, so Im thinking he probabaly was a member--maybe both prev. owners were.
and thanks f22vtech for the ``welcome``

so yes the owner of your car before you is a member on these forums and it is not acuratl_2nr, the member who had ur car before was drifter_sr5 and he only made 5 posts and a couple threads that's why no one remembered his name, i even had to do copious amounts of searching to find him
here is his thread about your car when he had it

and here is some pics
this one is before he painted the different parts black

and here's what your car looks like after he did the painting

looks like i am pretty good at searching, no?

goood searching mitch...impressive!
Thanks a lot man, its cool seeing what my car looked like before I got it. He did a bad job painting the headlights black; the didnt seal properly and theres silicon all over it. Not to mention the moisture that gets in them from his hackjob

just my
, since we now know who had it, what mods are on it...etc. You really should go over the car very well and make sure there's no ticking time bombs in there....tranny, oil, cooling, brakes.....but I'd really be checking that trans and the motor itself. Not to say the previous owner didnt care for the car, but.......well you know.
