what do you guys think...

Hey fellas, i want to get a new exhaust catback system, but i dont want any of the noise of an aftermarket muffler. I had 1 on my last CL, and i like it better without the noise . I was wondering, maybe i could use a 2nd gen CL type S stock muffler on my 2.5in piping to get performance but without the loud sound . What do you guys think, can it be done and will it give me the desired effects?

Heavens yes, especially after the fuckin rockchip i got on my hood this past sunday coming back to PSU from NY I think im gonna make it my christmas present to myself, hopefully soon. I'd buy it now but i gotta save up for some thanksgiving expenses.

And as for the muffler, i thought the Type S's came stock 2.5 or 2.25 piping? Eitehr way, i think id just get the shop to make it fit

I think it'll come out nice, and look nice. Otherwise, resonator and silencers will produce the same result on aftermarket muffs

Greddy SP2, not annoying and affordable. Greddy EVO2 is good too and just a little bit louder. honestly most of the cat-back systems out there sound the same, its just a matter of price.

how about you just go custom.. duh.

Go with whatever size piping you want, 22'' resonator, the catco hi-flow cat, and a muffler of your choice.

bam.

make sure all important inlets / outlets match the size of the piping.

i highly doubt stock piping for a TL or CL Type-S is 2.5". i doubt those guys are putting 3" exhausts on there cars when they upgrade.

and i think ours is like barely 2 inches??

yea but how you gonna manage the dual exhaust with the rear bumper. it would be cool if you could pull it off though.

i think infamous is just planning to use a cl-s muffler, not the whole catback or axleback. so hes not necessarily going to have dual exhaust. and sikemcl has a black widow kit IIRC.

good luck man
