Exclamation What a bad day!

Ok, so today, Im at a light and I let go of the brake to scoot up a little and the car doesnt move. Im in D4. I try stepping on the gas and the car just revs up and thats it. Before the light turned green again, I got the car to go after re-starting it 3 times. Then as Im driving, im at about 40, it stops working again, I slow down into a parking lot (lucky for my ass) and the D4 starts blinking and the Check Engine Light goes on. I ended up getting the car towed and when he moved the car to get it straight to load, it worked. When we got back to my house, I was able to back it into the garage, no problem. But still, the light it on. Has anyone had this happen? The tow truck man said that it wasnt the transmission, but a sensor possibly? Remember, I have the car that shifts rough only when its cold, and then drives perfectly once it heats up. Help me please!

hmm...that's odd that it drove fine again after restarting it 3 times, but...knowing the rep of our 3.0 auto trannies, my money is probably on your tranny being shot

Yeah trans on the way out if I had a guess. I used to have to remote start my accord whenever I was gonna go someplace to let it get to temperature before I drove. Then finally one day, boom goes the trans.

really? the guy at the store said its some kind of sensor because our transmissions are electronic or something. I just dont get why it would stop working, then work, then stop again. I mean 89k original miles is ridiculous for a new transmission. My parents have to pay for that AND get the axles done too? Shit im really not trying to get rid of my baby but this is ridiculous.

did you say benz wagon?

jesus christ if I could trade my cl for a benz wagon and slam it on a deep dish set of schmidts, I'd do it in a heartbeat

oh, and regarding trannies going out. my 97 was custom ordered and purchased brand new from the factory by my parents back in 97...not more than 20k miles later the tranny completely crapped out. So it's been on its second tranny now for about 100k...but now it feels like it could go at any second : / Then again it's felt this way for almost 2 years now...so I don't know.

Has anyone ever tried to use a transmission 'fix' fluid? Like Lucas Transmission Fix? I've heard some rave reviews for it then I've heard quite the fair share of the opposite..with a lot of experts saying never to put addatives in your tranny fluid...
