Weird Door Lock Problem
Weird Door Lock Problem
i went to lock my car with the lock/unlock switch inside the car and it wouldnt work, i tryed locking it manually and it just came unlocked,by itself!! is my car posessed??naw, but does anyone know whats wrong w/ it? thanks
there's a ghost in the car or remote
i have the WEIRDEST problems with the remote. sometimes i'll hit the lock button and it will lock and then i hear it lock again, and again, and again ..like 6-7 times really quick - it's completely random and hasn't created a problem so it must be a friendly ghost

well to tell you the truth I can only think of 2 things that could be happening.
1. The remote is defective and is constantly broadcasting an unlock signal therefore when you lock it by hand it immediatly unlocks.
2. The circuit control that prevents you from locking your keys in the car (ie. when keys are in the ignition and your drivers side door is open it shouldnt lock) is malfunctioning and unlocking the doors at random intervals even when you are in the car and the door is closed/ or when you are leaving and the keys are not in ignition.
Your only hope is to eliminate the possibility of #1 by taking the batteries out and seeing if it still happens. Then you will know that it is an internal problem and you can take your car to get looked at by acura. I think if you bitch enough you can get the dealer to fix the problem free if it is #2.

I have had the same problem as swclown w/ it locking about 7 times it just about happens about half the times i lock my door. It really has started to drive me nuts. If anyone has suggestions or had the same problem and found a way around it, then please let me know. I noticed when i was parking a 96 accord i locked the doors w/ the key (because it did not have a keyless remote) that it did the same thing as my car, just locking again and again at a rapid speed. Well goodluck finding out whats up w/ your car.
i had this problem after i banged my door into a pole and some place fixed it...my dad took the door apart and adjusted this hook that goes from the door lock to something else inside the door...ill have to ask him about that
Driver's door keeps "re-locking" after I hit unlock
I have a similarly related problem but mine is different.
When I walk up to my locked car and press the unlock button on the remote, it unlocks but then re-locks a second later. The only way to get in is if I press the button and open the door a split second later. If I wait a full second, it has re-locked by then.
It only does this sometimes (say 20-30% of the time maybe).
Is it my door actuator?
