Warm-up / Shifting

2 questions.

1. When do you guys shift? I'm talking about just normal driving here. I usally shift at around 3 1/2 grand. I don't have a manual so I dunno what Acura recommends, but I bought one on Ebay so I'll know soon, or if someone could post it that'd be great too.

2. When you first start your cars do you like let it run for awhile before driving. I usally like to always let it idle for no less then a minute to let the oil get into the engine, is it harmful just to start up and go?

2. I let it run for about minute or two. Although, manual says you can drive after you turn the engine on.

A minute or two is fine, but not necessary.

What you want to avoid is idling a cold engine for long periods of time. In the winter I see tons of people who start their cars and let them idle for like 30 minutes and blast the defrost before they go to work.

Also, try not to get on the gas too much until it warms up (I wait until the temp gauge moves up to normal oprating range)

When it's cold outside, I let it sit for 30 seconds without giving it any gas, and then I just take it really easy until it gets up to normal temp. range.

When it's not so cold, I just let it sit for 30 seconds to let the oil circulate.
