VTEC Solenoid

My appologies for being a noob

Approx. how much does it cost for a new vtec solenoid? Installation?

mine cost around $80. Its pretty easy (apperently) to install. My Mechanic charged me $100.

easy = $100?? easy = lunch for all the mechanics i know.. 100 would get my suspension installed with an oil change and a radiator flush.. somthing along those lines

did u purchase the solenoid yourself or did your mechanic have it/get it for you?

I had him buy it for me. I give him $80, he buyz it, then i pay him $20, and he puts it in on sunday morningz... If any of u guyz are near the San gabriel Valley, i have a connection at the acura dealership, we can work something out.

i would do some troubleshooting first. make sure you understand that the car wont engage vtec unill its entirely warmed up or if its in limp mode (check engine lights)

vtec is pretty damn weak on the f22 anyway. its hardly noticable when it engages

the solenoid itself is easy to replace. takes about 15 min to do.

I think theres another thread, someone sed u can just clean it out with Dubya D forty.

What do you mean by "lag" because that's a term used for FI.
