VIS Racing

Has anyone ever contacted Vis Racing in regards to a CF Hood? When I was the meet on Sunday a kid said all you have to do is call them and they will custom make a hood for you for around $500. I then asked him do we have to provide the hood and he said nope. My next question is why haven't anyone done this sooner??

Why don't you call them up and confirm what the kid told you at the meet.
If it cost $500.00 for them to make you a custom hood without having to sacrifice
your own...

Let me know what's up.

I would do it in an instant, all responses I have gotten about carbon fiber is that they have to build the mold. That kid might have had a car with a preexisting mold, which is why he didn't have to provide a hood. If they have not made a cl hood before, they would have to get one to create a mold, unless they are simply wrapping stock hoods, which isn't what any of us really want. If they can create a mold without a hood, they would be c/f pimps. Give em a call and see what they say about a 1st gen cl hood. I would love to know if this can be done.

Damn that is ridiculous. They still haven't called me back yet. I'm gonna try my local shop to see if they can get anything better from them.

I've ordered a CF Hood through Carbon Fiber Products. VIS is making the hood and they will be shipped at the end of September. The guy you want to talk to is Carlo. His number is 951-454-8081. After shipping it is right around 500$ Just ask about the CF hood for the CL and he will get you set up.
