very weird problem with my DRL and high beam
About half the time I start my car up, my DRL light and high beam light on the dash would come on, even tho neither of them would actually be on.
It usually goes away if I click my high beams on/off a few times and my lights work properly again.
WTF is going on?

,.. Canadian market CL's have DRL... the reason your DRL light is on when you start your car is because your handbrake is on. when you deactivate your handbrake the DRL light should shut off,. and for your high beam light it's because you left your highbeams on when you shut off your lights and shut off your car,,.. if what I described above makes no sense tou your situation, your DRL relay is burnt,. take it to a dealer and have them sauder the inside,. shouldn't run you more than 20 bucks...
How dumb do you think this guy is? I doubt you came on the board asking because you left your high beams on. I'm thinking that your multi-combo switch is failing. This is the part where all the turn swithches meet inside your column behind the steering wheel. Unless you have SRS experience, don't try to fix this yourself. But you should certainly take it in and have it checked out.
The part about the HIGHBEAM light going off if you switch on off a few times is indicative of the tarnished or damaged connectors inside the multi-combo switch. Eventually, this will not work any longer. As for the DRL, they are also controled by a relay connected to the multi-combo switch. If there is a broken contact, or a worn connector, the switch will eventually fail and leave you in a bad place. I have been there with my civic. My turn signals stopped working, then one day, the right turn signal came on and wouldn't shut off. I drove to the shop with the fuse pulled. No dash, no lights, thank heavens it was daytime.
Get this fixed soon.

That's the other thing I was trying to think of, a little
The switch that handles the lights is probably the culprit
The DRL's shut off when you turn on your lights,.. if your relay is burnt when you turn on your car your DRL's won't be on and your highbeams won't work,,. i've been there before,.. my relay was burnt...
