I think vertical doors are a rip off, but you would probably be the only CLer to have em. Do you have anything else done to your ride or will the doors be your first mod?

not the first..there are actually quite a few with the door conversion....im sure i could do the same by making a trip to home depot and picking up about $100 worth of stuff, ,making a trip to a machine shop, and bam..done......but..these are all prefabed with no cutting, etc...so it makes it easier....but IMO...id leave the LAMBO doors, to lambos

The verticaldoors.com kit is the best kit on the market. We've done 2 so far on an Eclipse and a Celica. Alot of other kits out have problems with the doors swaying or closing due to the struts being weak. Vertical doors sell 2 kits for each car they have basic struts and upgraded heavy duty struts, on both of these cars we've used the upgraded and haven't had a problem. Yes it is cheaper to have them machined but unless you have the vertical doors kit to copy it'll be hard finding the struts to fit, and you'll have to weld it on. Cost of the Vertical Doors kit is around $1600 may have dropped in the past few months since we did the Eclipse. Machined do it yourself kits range around $250 to $500 before struts. We're still looking for struts for a set of hinges a customer brought us. If you need a set let me know and I can find a price.

i would think the struts would have to be replaced a lot since the doors are so freakin heavy.

They would work better in tight parking spaces, but maybe not in parkades with short ceilings.
