I was wondering if anyone can tell me what a venom 400 is? I have seen that a couple of people have them on their cls. I was also wondering if it would be worth buying one for my 2.2cl

Thanks

I've been debating on this mod myself. Not a big fan on spending my money on a "black box" that they dont tell you how it works. Its not customizable either its either on or off.

For about the same money you could get a Apexi V-AFC. It changes your VTEC and air to fuel ratios where you set them. This is much more tangible to me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. But would a VAFC do that much good with SOHC. I know it helps but is it worth it?

Depends on what you mean. Moving the VTEC range around will help depending on your mods. The air to fuel tuning would have helped with my dyno runs but with NOS or a turbo these are a must.

I dont even know what the venom does does it move the VTEC or change the air/fuel. Its sounds like snake oil to me.

I suggest you email ibracing@earthlink.net for your answer. He specialized in after market performance car parts particularly for Hondas and Acuras.

well venom does this basically....from 1000 rpm to 5000 rpm if u press the gas half way...it will make the car go to WOT... hence giving u more low end power....it wont do anything to the vtec...it basically hooks up to your MAP sensor and ur throttle body sensor... hope that helps

from what ive herd the vennom is good. ive also herd that it dosent do much on a stock car. You need to have atleast headers, intake, and exhaust to get much out of it,

It's hard to get info from the website. I haven't been there in a while but I remember some of their bogus dynos. It makes the unit look like a joke.

It basically shoots more fuel into your engine. If you have an auto like me, it helps with the shifting as well. Downshifts are a snap with the Venom. Even though they say it does nothing at WOT I think it does. I had the unit on and off and it pulled harder with it on. So, I don't know about the info the website had but it's the best mod that I have put on my car so far.

Here's a link to some reviews http://carreview.com/Engine+Manageme...0_2874crx.aspx Doesn't look all that great. From what I've read, it simply tricks the computer to think that the throttle is opened more than it actually is, but has no effect at WOT. Seems useless to me, if you want the computer to think you got the pedal down further then why not just use your right foot?

OKAY any one who doesnt have it plz just shut up. ok first off it works. i can floor the hell out of my car and it is no where near as fast as when i have the venom on. also on auto it rides the gears out. i wouldn't get it on a stock 2.2. 2.3. i wasnt very impressed and tried to sell it, but never actually did. so i put it back on my car after my i/e and whoh! it was pretty damn cool. now after i/h/e/p it pulls way way harder then ever with the venom on. i can chirp them in 2nd with my auto. cant do that with it off thats for sure. also for $300 i would much rather have bought an igniton. the jacabs ice pac. not as well known as msd, but makes way more power and thats a fact. i talked to many ppl who have it. not to mention the 3-5 more mpg ull get will pay for it alone. anyways to sum it al lup the venom is a great toy but if u dont got a header or an ignition or pullies or somethin liek that i would buy the venom last when u run out of mods. it is pretty damn cool an im glad i have it but i really really wish i had an ignition instead.
