Tranny slip/ check engine light
Tranny slip/ check engine light
My tranny showed signs of slipping over the weekend. It slipped for about 4 seconds in stop and go traffic with no check engine light. No more slipping after the initial tranny slip. The car drove like a champ. However, yesterday morning, I drove out of my driveway and backed into the driveway for an oil change, and the check engine light came on. I changed the oil anyway but the light stayed on. I removed the backup radio fuse for 25 seconds and the check engine light went away for a good 30 mile drive. The check engine light came back on and stayed on.
According to the Acura manual, the check engine light could mean that the gas cover is not fully twisted into place. I will try to tighten the gas cover later on today. Hopefully, it will solve the check engine light and if not I guess its a trip to Autozone for Free ODB II dyno.
Do you guys think theres a correlation with the tranny slipping?
Thanx in advance.

Sounds like your tranny is going, go to autozone or somewhere and have them pull the error code from the computer, that'll tell you what you're dealing with.
