Total Failure

So the last few starts on my car it has had trouble turning over. Battery. I was driving today and my battery light came on and i was like alright thats cool because i listened to my radio with the car off too too long last week and stalled it. So it was pretty much drained. Well anyways im driving home about 2 hours later and my battery light wasznt on anymore. But i was at a red light and i accelerated somewhat hard and it felt clean and smooth. So i continued driving and i noticed my ABS light to start to brightnen more and more til it was completely on. So i come to a stop at this stop sign. I have my music jammin (its 80 =]) Anywho, (lol) I accelerate hard again and it felt like it was holding back. So i turned my music down. ANd i heard this clicking sound over by the passenger air bag. And thats when it happend. My tranny failed..... again. I couldnt get out of first. Let alone get back to first once it got into second. So this is def my tranny right? couldnt have anything to do with my battery? or the ABS? Im pretty sure my tranny is down for the count. which would mean the acura is down for the count. and we would sell it.......... yea bad bad bad bad bad day.....

try resetting the ecu, pull the back up radio, and ecu fuse for 10 sec then put it back in and see if the tranny shifts reg.

loan=yes
you wont need a co-signer on a used car though, only new cars.
but they're gonna want a good 9 or 10k for that cl since it has such low miles.

alright just drove it a mile or so.

well the clicking noise from near the passenger airbag is going on. The ABS lights is still on. I have some hesitation to what i would call engage in vtech. i floored it 3 times each of which accelerated right away but like hesitated to accerlerate harder. Then twice the spedometer jumped from whatever speed im going to 0 then back to the speed. I cant move my seat forward or backwars anymore. My windows are going slow as hell along with my seat reclining forward and backward. so yea. could this all be battery related?

Your battery voltage is very low, which screws up all the controllers, ABS, ECU, and airbags. You likely need an alternator overhaul or replacement alternator. Perhaps battery also.

You can buy a battery voltage monitor at Walmart for < $20 that will tell you if battery is charging. The Alt light is not reliable in my experience. Any voltage < 13V consistently suggests alternator output is too low.

good luck

Go get your alternator checked. I'd put money on it being the culprit.

it might still be your alt, if your alt is failing so is your battery.
so changing the battery might fix it temp, but if it start giving you trouble in the next 2 days or even tomorrow morning its your alt.

theres one thing i've learned since i turned 16.........thats any car with over 60,000 is going to be ALOT more than your bargained for maintenance wise.

and nada lists the price for the CL for around 8k, i think its a good deal.

you'll probably have to have your dad with you then to put something down as collateral.

Where's my money?

Your power steering, ECU, and alt died at the same time? You sure it's not because there wasn't enough voltage going through them? Get the alt fixed, that might take care of the other two problems.

it probably just went out because of the alt, get the alt replaced and it will be good as new.

yea thats what i meant. It happened because my alt was dying. What kind of price should i be looking at for the alt. Is there a DIY on it anywhere on here? My dad and i were looking at it and its in a wierd place that we couldnt figure out how to even get it out of the engine bay.

Any help would be awesome.

I believe I paid $150 at Napa. It's not the easiest part to replace, but it's not impossible.
