if I remember right, he told me that the buttons lined up perfectly... the circuit board just had to be trimmed a little on the corners. Pat, lets see some pics of the board (comparison maybe?).

sorry, i had to say it. I would like it because I keep my 02 CL on one keyring and the 99 TL and 98 CL on another. Sure the 98 says acura in red and the 99 says it in black, but they are very similar and hard to tell apart (not that hard).

Ok sorry it took me so long to respond. To do this i switched out the circuit boards (thanks to sumkidwithacl and CL-Z for the idea and help). It sounded really easy and the buttons lined up so that was a big plus but the boards were different sizes and the battery connections were a bit different. First i started to trim the CL board but could only go so far before i would screw up the circuit board so i then started to trim away the insides of the TL remote. Then i realized the TL remote was slimmer so i trimmed the flat sides of the TL casing some to fit the wider board in. Than i put the rubber thing for the TL remote on the CL board but realized it was too thick so i did alittle trimming of the rubber thing. Than i stuck it all together and realized the battery didnt have a full circuit so i had to play around with those connections. To tell you the truth i dont know how i got the battery to work, trial and error but it does work, it just takes some time Any more questions feel free to ask and sorry for the delay

Well, basically, trim the circuit board as small as possible WITHOUT breaking the circuit.
Then, you'll need to trim and sand the battery side of the cover so it has enough room.
Also, the metal piece on the battery side of the cover can be removed.
I didn't take any picture before I start triming and sanding.
When I'm home from work tonight, I'll take a few pictures of the final cover... this should give you a good idea on how much work is needed.

Nope it doesnt work. I tried despite the fact everyone said it wouldnt work and they were right, it didnt. The new remotes control the memory seats so it is a different setup then the first gen CLs Its really not that hard to swap out the boards but im assuming you dont have a remote to swap the board out of.
Oh the remote looks great but it doesnt wear well. The silver comes off so easily :-/
