alright im gettin my windows tinted next week and im ONLY doing the rears cuz i dont really want to have to deal with the coppps so what % tint would u guys recommend for the rear 3 windows? i was thinkin 20%..but i would appreciate ur opinions =) my car is black btw..thanks in advance

 

i have 35's all around... lowest legal % in NY... i think it looks great (i have a black CL too)

 

20% all the way around what i have light enough so that cops really dont give you problems(unless you have a black interior) dark enough so that the car looks

 

exactly what i have...black car, black leather, 20% tint all around + front window brow.

35% is legal and 20% is one step darker. Ive been pulled over and never gotten introuble for my tint....(i did get introuble for the brow being too low though) I'd get 20 all around...yes your taking a risk but, A. it will look better on every window, and B. i dont think cops are gonna screw w/ u on 20%...(its too close to 35) Now, if you get into the 15,12,10% range, you can definitly tell and can get busted.

I had a friend with 12% on his white truck...(yea...white truck and 12% windows...they looked like 5% limo tint) The HWY Patrol/state trooper pulled him over on the HWY and made him sit there and scrape the tint off his window with a razor blade while the cop watched..(on the side of the HWY!) Just so the cop knew he'd go get it removed because now, it had gashes and peices missing from the blade....

 

any tint on the front windows is illegal in NJ..cant pass inspection and cops around here are dicks..i know ill get pulled over cuz i have to drive on route 78 everyday and that shits riddled with cops...so im just deciding for the rear windows..

 

yea im getting my tinted, i have blue-green, so im gonna go with 20%

 

cops around my part of jersey really dont give a damn, they only pull you over for speeding if you're in excess of 10+ or if you're doing something really dumb i.e. tailgating, except for the dick that pulled me over for no front plate no farther than a mile from my house on my way home...

my pic is white with 5% all around lol, its off now cause i got pulled over twice but im planning on doing 20% all around pretty soon

 

ya i love 5% all around.. got hasttled once by a cop but didnt get a ticket yet... but if ur only going the rears dont go TOO dark cause itll look ghetto w/ super dark in back and nothing in front.. maybe 35 or MAYBE 20 in the back? consider matching the front and maybe rolling ur windows down more often, thats what i do

 

yea i decided im just gonna get the fronts and rears done. not the windshield tho. im thinkin 20% rear 35% fronts? opinions?

 

i had that for a good 5 or 6 months and i was ok with it i got the charcole tint and didnt really like it on the carsince our actual window glass color is green i went with 5% all around it kinda got rid of that green color.. if i can find a pic of my car w/ 20% and 35% ill post

i dont understand the tint colors... =P what color tint should i get for a black cl?

 

i suggest just the black.. charcole has little metal in it, which makes it look kinda dark grey, as opposed to black. It actually reflects more light and uv rays than the black one does.. some ppl say it looks classier.. if you can find pics of "vxcl" he has charcole and i THINK 5% all around and it doesnt look bad @ all to me.. if i can find pics for examples ill post agiain

at night you can barely see the person, maybe just the very outline

 

If you gonna do the door windows make it as little as possible or you will get pulled over especially during the beginning and middle of the month. The back 3 windows you can make as dark as you want since its not illegal..

 

well what % would be good for the front side windows? the highest tint ive seen is 35% and it looks pretty dark..what would be a better tint.. so u can still see me..
