Time for some 3.0CL modding

And Im finally in the right section. I mean i knew what section to go into, but, I kept screweing it up.

So my parents bought a 3.0 CL summer of 06 and they just gave it to me . So now its time for some modifications. First I want a new muffler / exhaust. I was thinking about a Flowmaster delta flow 60 series. Would that be alright? I dont want it to sound totally like a rice burner. Id rather have a bit of a deeper sound. I mean I know it wont be anywhere near a V8 but yea any suggestions on a good muffler I should get. Next I want some new Halogens. I was looking at these blue Luminics. Is this a good brand. It was only 35 bucks for the pair so Im sorta iffy about them. I jsut want the HID look and I want to get it at a decent price. Any help with that or anything else is greatly appreciated! Thanks

and im kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff. So bare with me

I worked with someone that had a flowmaster on his teggy. It was kind of weird hearing that kind of a sound coming from an import. It wasn't bad sounding, but it just didn't seem right either.

Well see I guess you can say the car isnt technically mine yet. But Im thinkin it will be completely mine this summer. So I want to start wih some smaller mods so my dad dosent freak out haha. ANd if I got and echaust that makes it sound like a cavalier with a huge muffler that makes it high pitched as ever he'd kill me. So the deeper the better.

Welcome, you can find lots of info at here.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179727

As for the exhaust, the sound you want I'd say get a magnaflow like ghost said, and for headlights, get some sylvanias, I recommend cool blues for the HID look, or you can get some silverstar ultras. Both look good and white, not ricey looking. My old sylvania setup

I have Cool BLues Right now! They suck compared to my Ultras I once had. Im probably just going to get the "Blue" Luminics brand and if they suck, then I guess they suck. haha

i would go straight for an hid kit, i regret buying bulbs, i wasted close to $70 on silverstars and other bulbs, then i bought an hid kit off H-T for $130 shipped. and its sooo much better than crappy bulbs.

See I want to avoid rewiring anything other than the converter i would use for the Luminics. Whats H-T? A site/store obviously. SO you payes 130 for shipping and everything, and how was the installation.

its not really rewiring, its a plug and play system. except i did get one with a relay harness so i did have to plug it into the battery. the install is easy as cake. here is the install guide: http://home.comcast.net/~patcourt/in...ions/page1.htm
H-T is honda-tech, another forum.

Blue light bulbs suck and their light output sucks, HID is the best way to go, but otherwise get some ultras or something with a good white color to it

Go with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras like Blackack said. They look very nice, very bright, and very classy. They had a Thanksgiving sale at Pep-Boys a while back and picked some up then. I'm very happy with them. May not be as bright (barely) as HIDs but the Ultra white is the same color.

When I have my Ultras I tihnk it was one from the top model of them. There was an ultra and like an ultra plus idk something to that matter. Maybe Ill get the best of the best this time. The only reason i dont have hte Ultras anymore is becuase i had two bulbs burnt out in around 3-4 months. So i was fed up with that and got he Cool Blues and they havent burnt out yet. Ill still go with the ultras again though

trust, from someone who spent enough money on bright bulbs that ended up burning out too damn often, just get an HID kit. Save yourself the time and money, its plug and play and looks wayyy better than imitation bulbs

with HID kits, don't you need to re-adjust the headlights downward, otherwise you can blind oncoming drivers?

what's the preferred choice for HID colour output? i was leaning on 6000 or under if i want to stay as close to white output as possible?

Right now i'm running NOKYA 7000K bulbs only and it looks pretty blue. Athough the light doesn't produce that much especially in the rain. Rain sucks with these bulbs. LoL....But I'd say do an HID for sure. I'm doing an HID once I get my Blackhouse & projector retro finished.

its actually not bad, but mine are pointed downwards. i have 6k but they're white and purple. they look more like oem nissan hid's. 4300k is what you want for white.

If it sounded like that we'd have to kill you also Look into a GReddy Evo2, Apex'i WS2, something from Magnaflow(I hate them so I don't know their models, but it's pretty good stuff, just popular), or a custom exhaust. I think Flowmaster would be a bit...odd.

Yeah Cool Blues suck. They're not even blue....they're yellow. I have them now and I hate them. Get some Silverstar Ultras for sure. As far as exhausts go, either get Magnaflows or a GReddy system. However, as soon as the car is yours, I'd lower it ASAP.

I just bought some Ultras about 30 minutes ago. Put one in and turned on the lights. Pretty big difference. Cant wait until dark to try em out

dont be surprised if you have tranny probs.

97 trannies with high milelage will have problems.

i am assuming you are young, the car is old *97*

the best thing you could do is get a tranny cooler and check up @ acura

for when the latest maintenance was done.

earn your parents respect for the car before you start putting blue lights and pipes on it:

trust me

if your start with putting a loud pipe on the car your parents will get a bad impression.

good night
