Thinking of debadging!!!

Hey all. Im new here and just wanted some heads up on debadging as I plan on doing this some time soon. Can anyone tell me if there are pins that hold the emblem on or is it just the glue? Is it a good idea? ANyone have horror stories to tell about? THanks

most likely if u want the holes filled in.. you'll probably have to take it to a shop

but its really easy to debadge the liter/CL and acura emblems

it just takes a little time (about 30 min), gasoline, your nails, and a old credit car to get it done

(everyone thinks i have a 2.x before i waste them.. haha.. then they're like... "does your 2.2 have a supercharger or something?"... puahaha.. they think im a sleeper)

I don't know if this works on cars, but if you make a hole in a wall, toothpaste covers it up.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my CL but then it will look exactly like yours but in Black.

mines debadged also, except for the "A" emblem, have a horror story this week after school I go and put my books in the trunk and notice that my "A" emblem was leaning on its side, someone probably tried to pull it off and one of the pins is broken and its stuck inside, I tried to get that stuck pin out and then *bam* the hole where the pin is inserted into broke and got pushed all the way in =( and I managed to push it out and now its all loose

so for now my "A" emblem only has 1 pin and it is on there with some glue .............. any ideas on how to fix this?

Horror story? Someone tried taking the glue off with a razor blade, not a good idea, it took some paint off I believe.

do you guys think that it'll leave a shawdow on a black car. i've also been thinking about doing it but im afraid it might leave a shawdow on the paint if i take it off. if ppl say it'll leave a shawdow then i think i will take them off and paint all the emblems a gunmetal/greyish color. ever done b4? let me know thanks.

how do you think i should go about it with taking it off and using gasoline. i've read that if u use floss or fishing string u could take it off and afterwards use goo off but i have never heard of gasoline. by the way this is a black car, u pretty sure it won't leave much of a shadow?

Blow dryer, goo gone and fishing line, and I have ugly shadows.

Anyone know how to get these off? It's been about 4 months...it's a black CL.

What about spreading the ACURA name across the trunk under the "A" how do you do that? Do you have to buy each letter individually and if so other than the dealer where can I get them?

It's the 2nd gen TL badge that you see spread out on CL's. You can get it at Acura dealerships, ebay, or Acura parts shops online or in person.

WD-40 works wonders to remove addhesive. I also use it to remove the road tar that accumulates on the lower half of the body from the wheel spray.

my emblems left the ghost image on.. i had my local car wash buddies buff it out.. then it left a haze of where they buffed it.. then @ the a-cl detail day scott (CLPower) helped me polish it out its barely noticable until i get a new paint job it will be great So if you happen to have a buddy with a power polisher then that might help some too
